The SSI Instructor crossover program is conducted over 2 days with one of our Full time Instructor Trainers, with a series of in-water and classroom presentations as well as a watermanship test.

It is at the discretion of the SSI Service Centre to determine whether additional training or evaluation (e.g. completing a full SSI Instructor Evaluation), is required prior to issuing an equivalent SSI professional-level certification.

Requirements For Completion

Pass all requirements and evaluations listed in the instructor manual for the SSI Professional Crossover. Complete the program’s final exam.

The candidate should not be currently involved in a quality compliance case with another training agency. If they are part of an active quality compliance case, they must disclose all information about the case with SSI prior to attending the crossover.

Any candidate who has been expelled from another training agency is automatically disqualified from attending an SSI Professional Crossover.

Note: If the candidate does not inform SSI of their role in an active quality compliance case, is placed in expelled status by another training agency after completing the SSI Professional Crossover, or does not inform SSI of their previous expelled status with another agency, SSI may decertify the candidate or even place them in expelled status, as well.
