Driving a powerboat on local waterways is enjoyable and fun-

In NSW a Power Boat Licence is required for people over 12 years of age, to operate a powered vessel, at speeds above ten knots.

With Sea School at Killarney Vale, you can join the thousands of happy boat drivers who have enjoyed our boating programs and enjoy safe boating on our local waterways.

Sea School offers you more than just a boat licence course, this course is designed to develop your skills and make you a safe, capable and very confident boat driver.

This NSW Powerboat licence program includes full theory session, NSW boat licence exam and practical on-water boat driving experience, where you will complete pre-launch ramp and boat safety checks, boat launching procedures, how to don a lifejacket and physical on-water skill training, finishing up with boat retrieval back onto the boat trailer, then make road ready, to transport.

By the end of the day, you will complete all required training and have a much better understanding of the safety elements, you need to know!

The time you spend on the water with our experienced trainer, during this comprehensive program, is perfect for the person who has very little or no boat driving experience, increasing your overall knowledge and make your day on the water, safer.

To enrol, select your chosen date from the calendar below, complete the theory session scheduled on Thursday evening, between 5pm and 9:30pm.
Practical training takes place on Saturday or Sunday afternoon from 3pm till 6:30pm

How to Book
To secure your place please book online 24 hours prior to your chosen date, where bookings are confirmed.
We do not accept payment on the day unless by prior arrangement.

After the course-
You will present your Sea School certificate of completion along with your 100 points of ID to RMS at Services NSW, pay for your boat or PWC licence and hit the water.

NO LOG BOOKS; NO EXTRA EXAMS AT MARITIME.
This is a complete NSW Powerboat licence program No need for Logbooks as you will complete all practical "hands on" training.

You get more than a boat licence; you learn how to drive a boat safely. 
There are minimum of three students required to run course.
Class numbers are limited to ten to allow for complete learning.

Sea School provides a comprehensive face to face, step by step, presentation by experienced trainers for all boat licence and PWC licence courses.

It is not a requirement to study before the course. Should you want to pre read or study beforehand, you can  download a copy here- Boating handbook. This Learner's guide includes a list of study questions known as the 'Boating Knowledge Quiz'.

You will need to provide Proof of Identity when you register for a course- I.E. current Drivers licence, Medicare card, Australian Passport, Birth certificate, etc. Enough to meet the Govts. 100 point system.

The course, test and practical training are competencies derived from activity specialisation seen within the SIS10 Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package:

MEM50008B – Carry out trip preparation and planning

MEM50009B – Safely operate a mechanically powered recreational boat

MEM50010B – Respond to boating emergencies and incidents 

This course involves all theory, examinations and practical training to fulfill all NSW powerboat Licence requirements. You will receive a Course Completion Report to take along to NSW Services to pay for your licence.

Course times

Licence Theory Session- Thursday, 5pm till 10pm

Practical Session- 3pm to 6pm on following Saturday or Sunday

Literacy

You must be able to communicate orally in English. If you have difficulties in this regard we recommend that you contact NSW Maritime or visit your local NSW Maritime office who will arrange an appointment with an interpreter.

We are also able to conduct the tests orally, for applicants with special needs.

The Diaz family Trust trading as Pro Dive Central Coast (ABN 15971198063) is an authorised Nominated Representative of Sea School International Pty Ltd (ABN 27 140 038 713, RTO 91732) and is approved by NSW Maritime to provide practical boat training and/or knowledge testing for the NSW general boat driving licence and PWC driving licence.
